Announcing Starbase Brewing

We've said from the beginning that there are a couple of major goals for Mars Oasis. We've already unveiled some of our ideas around how we're beginning to explore the future of Martian agriculture. Our other primary focus is to inspire people all around the world and get everyone excited about humanity on Mars.

We have spent a lot of time thinking about how we can most effectively build public support for Mars Colonization. Many times, this brainstorming is done over beers, and this has led to some interesting reflection. We realized that craft beer is one of the best ways to bring people together. Beer brands are commonly built around specific ideas or concepts. Breweries offer a unique to connect with and give back to the local community. And it's perfect for celebratory occasions like successful rocket launches.

For all of these reasons, we have decided to launch Starbase Brewing, the Official Brewery of Mars. We have recently begun developing a line of beers that will raise awareness for SpaceX's Mars colonization efforts in Starbase, Texas. Every beer will highlight a famous rocket, a historic mission, or a breakthrough in reusable spaceflight. Additionally, we have purchased a brewery in Austin which will allow us to ramp up production quickly. We hope to grow this brand rapidly throughout Texas and around the US, to bring spaceflight excitement to the masses in an accessible way.

Starbase Brewing will also provide us with a perfect testbed for our first agricultural IoT sensor: growing hops! This year we will begin small-scale experimentation with planting hops in monitored hydroponic systems. Within a couple of years, we hope to scale to the point where all of the hops for our beers are grown in-house using Mars Oasis hydroponic technology.

We will re-invest profits from Starbase Brewing into continuing to develop other technologies that will benefit the future of humanity in space, especially agricultural ones. Additionally, our brewery will be powered 100% by renewables, and we've started to think about how to re-capture carbon during the beer fermentation process. We're super excited to unveil more about Starbase Brewing over the next few months. Follow us on social media and check out our new website at! (Or, if you prefer:
